Don’t Mind June

Paper never stops burning.

Agreements will fold–
pretend I’m cranes,
stacked thoughts.

Tears over my slivers,
your condolences,
your sincerity

sounds of crickets…

These cardinal directions
gasp in heart-beats
skipping

like children do.

The summer dries ink,
sending pigeons
to thirst

in the mind of June.
