How Envy Lies

They painted the grass
for you
and
my white dress.

Lay me down.

I am stained
with your kisses,
libel.
Skin unnerved
but bruised
by the captivated

and shrugged

by the captured.

I’ve been tinted.
I’ve been tainted.

Lay me down
or
leave me be.

I’ve never looked good in green.
