Since She Knows

Don’t tell the sun to set,
                       The sunset knows.

       She parades celibacy
                     For empathy.
       She conceals sentiment
           With embarrassment.

Confidence within her withdrawal,
                           You rely on her fall.

You feel the intrigue of her flame—
Disguising the coldness of her core.
You’re blinded by her semblance—
It shines through her intentions.

Motives of absence are shaded in theories
          Of abstinence.
Promiscuous out of fear, as every night
                       Draws near.
